I guess our parents stayed together simply because they didn't have 10,000 people following them or liking their photos at their disposal when their marriage or relationship were in trouble.
These days it's so easy to log into social media and get high off of a false sense of security and appreciation. We value our worth based on likes, comments and inbox messages of colourful words that have absolutely no depth.
Meanwhile the person who loves you when you have no filter on your face becomes an option and the rest of the world who just sees your representative becomes a priority.
Social media has made it so easy for relationships to be built, and to be broken. It's a natural high for confidence we all seem to crave. The more likes on a photo, the more confidence we gain. The more attention through the internet, the less likely of being truly happy with ourselves and our own lives.
Don't lose sight of what's real by chasing what only appears to be... The grass isn't always greener on the other side.
With Love, Nikki | xo
